Developing and maintaining a healthy relationship with a friend, partner, spouse, child, or
parent is an ongoing process.  To develop an good relationship with another person, you
need understanding and insight as well as knowledge of basic interactional principles.  You
also
always need to negotiate a set of unique ground-rules to suit you both.  It is the role
of the therapist to initiate and facilitate such frank negotiations in a way that is beneficial
to both parties.
See below for free worksheets to get you started!

Relationship therapy can be conducted with one person, although benefits increase
substantially when both parties are present during the sessions.
Suggested uses for relationship therapy include:

- Pre-marital guidance
- Preparation for parenthood
- Negotiation of marital roles/practical issues
- Negotiation of dependence/independence
- Setting boundaries
- Communication patterns
- Conflict resolution
- Sexual guidance
- Divorce mediation
- Any other relationship problem
